The Deer Isle Artists Association Gallery opens the summer season with Graceful Objects, a show featuring work by Cynthia Bourque Simonds, Emily Brett Lukens, Diane Coit, Mary Eaton, Judith Felch, Alan Flowers, Megan LeBoutillier, Frederica Marshall, David McBeth, Rachel Melton, Leslie Miller Landrigan, Sherry Street, and David Simonds. Visitors will find a wide variety of art forms at the show, including, basketmaking, painting, pottery, fiber, and Japanese Sumi-e painting. From Leslie Miller’s large format oil paintings that focus upon workers to David McBeth’s pottery which explores the relationship between American and Asian Ceramic designs, Graceful Objects fills the gallery with interesting and eclectic art. Appearing in the Art Rack are works by William Lukens & Glenn Felch.
The show runs from June 4-16, and a reception with the artists will be held on June 9 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm. The DIAA Gallery at 15 Main Street in Deer Isle Village is open daily, Tuesdays through Sundays, from 10:00 – 5:00. 207-348- 2330.
