Imaginative Drawings of Form and Space Workshop | Turtle Gallery

September 16, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Work by Majo Keleshian

Imaginative Drawings of Form and Space with Hub White – Mon Sept 16 -Tues.17, 9am to 4pm

Observing existing buildings and spaces need not only result in an accurate representational drawing. Looking closely at the forms, and their various components and spaces thereby created can inspire alternative, imaginative drawings as well. The Turtle Gallery complex provides rich potential to see, explore and discover ways for individual artists to respond. Participants will be encouraged to make such drawings using graphite. As weather permits, mornings likely will be spent on the gallery grounds drawing in a sketchpad and drawing will be continued indoors on larger paper in the afternoons. 2 days 9am – 4pm . Limited to 5 participants. Fee: $350.

Hub White, architect/artist has taught architectural design for many years, mostly at the University of Illinois including two years in Versailles. He also taught in Paris, Rome/Florence for other schools and conducted several sketching workshops in Greece. Professional practice experience includes several years working for significant architects and conducting his own practice doing residential design and national/international design competitions. His formal education has been enhanced by other art studio programs, Haystack workshops, and travels. The Deer Isle Artists Association Gallery often exhibits his drawings.
